Overtaken By The Seed Of God
Drawing on Matthew 13’s images of the mustard seed, yeast, hidden treasure, and pearl, this sermon argues that God’s kingdom often begins in small, overlooked acts. It names First Baptist’s Vacation Bible School, shared meals, ecumenical collaboration, and care for children as “seeds” already growing in the community. The central invitation is to notice the treasures God has placed in people and to invest in them patiently, so love takes root and becomes shelter for others.
